A feeling of perverse satisfaction in the above. *
Researching a small project have been finding some nice material on London's Frost Fairs which took place in the 16-1800's on the Thames. Fragmentary accounts describing stalls, attractions and general mayhem taking place (everything from Oxes roasting to elephants wandering about) "on the River now become a STAGE". Permalink |
