For this six-hour programme of contemporary video, Etchells and Horvat invited an international group of artists whose work on video shared an interest in the possibilities of performance from a number of different perspectives. Some of the works were recorded by more-or-less domestic means and used minimal editing - often shot in one hand-held take or from one camera position. Referring to the forms of video diary, webcam and home movie, many of them take place in everyday locations and explore unrehearsed processes, tasks, or rules. Other works in the selection played with unexpected juxtapositions of sound and image, by jump-editing from one ‘scene’ or fragment to another, or else play with theatrical modes of performance transposed to video and made strange in the process.
