City Changes is an on-going text work manifested as prints and as published
pages. The work comprises an initial text which is then altered through many
many versions. Changes to the text - which describes and re-describes a city
- are tracked and colour coded as they might be by word processing software
creating a work that explores the content, the visual structure and process
of writing. The descriptions alternate between an idea of a city in which
nothing ever changes, and a city in which change is a continuous process.
The first public manifestation of the work is City Changes 1-4 which is
featured as a part of The Sheffield Pavilion, a Sheffield Contemporary Art
Forum publication project featured in The Venice Biennale, Documenta XII,
Skulptur Projekte Münster 07, and Art Basel during June 2007. More
