Works on paper. 2000 - ongoing. A collection of numbered lists which seem to be advertisements for bizarre, inexplicable, brutal and often illegal goods and services. What’s for sale in any given place and its price may be taken as a cultural barometer - a way of understanding values and relations. Working with this fact, The Price Lists imply a culture, or a place which is a distorted version of the contemporary urban. Here assassinations, household items, tattoos, soft-furnishings, predictions, prophecies and sexual services (amongst many other things) are all for sale at more or less the same rock-bottom price. Manifested as installation and temporary on-line exhibit (at the now defunct: everything-has-its-price.com), The Price Lists have also been presented as an edition of works on paper during La Guerre, (Editions MIX) at The Palais De Tokyo, Paris. |
